~The smell of my son Sam when he wakes up. When he was just a toddler, he would smell like bread rising. As he’s gotten older, that smell has been replaced by little boy smell, which doesn’t always smell so good, but it’s still his smell. I still smell him when I hug him in the mornings and expect to find that same, young smell.
~Dr. Pepper. I love Dr. Pepper. I don’t drink alcohol, so maybe I use this as my vice, I don’t really care! I love the carbonation. I love to stop at a gas station after a photo shoot and get a fountain drink and feel refreshed. Yes, I know water would be healthier, but not as satisfying to the taste buds!
~Flip flops. I wear them everywhere, except dates with my husband. He can’t stand them, so I try to respect that. I like flipping them on and flipping them off without having to bend over and untie anything or look for a pair of socks before putting them on. I actually had a fall recently and my husband says it was because of the flip flops. I know he’s right, but sadly, I don’t care. I will continue to wear them all the days of my life. You know those old people you see walking down the street with their shirt tucked into their shorts and sandals and knee high socks on? I bet they have always dressed like that. I too will always wear the flip flop.
~Reality Shows suck me in! I love a good reality show. Among my favorites…Project Runway, Flipping Out, Any of the Housewife episodes, Millionaire Matchmaker…I think that for the most part they are appropriate…I love to watch their lives unfold and it’s a great way to look at how humans react. It also makes me feel grateful for my simple life!
~I am a Gleek. I love Glee. I love the music, the drama, the talent. I love that it’s abut a group of kids that seem to represent all those clicks in high school that I saw, but never felt a part of any of them.
~I love watching my husband play with our 4 children. He is a wonderful father and when he takes time to play with the kids, it makes me fall in love with him all over again.
~My daughter. Of course, I love my boys too, but there is something wonderful about having a daughter. For me, it’s a begin again or a do over. I have never been close to my own mother, so I think I try extra hard with my daughter. I love her big brown eyes and all the freckles clustered on her nose. I love that she’s expressive and has her own opinions and that she reminds me of me. Not the me growing up, but the me now. The one with confidence and talent and joy!
~Being a bit on the OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) side. Okay, my husband would say a lot, but whatever. I am a person of routine and like things a certain way. If one hand gets wet, I have to get the other hand wet, even if there is no reason why. Things need to be straight and even. I could go on and on but that’s probably just going to scare you away, and we don’t want that :) I have embraced who I am and love that my life works for me and it seems to work for my clients because they keep coming back!
I just found this picture from a family vacation to Washington DC-using my old film camera and of course, wearing a black shirt! No editing here-just me with a camera.
I think I'll use this picture more!
